South West Strategic Developments (SWSD) are consulting on more detailed proposals for the New Woodlands Garden Community scheme, following their previous consultation in 2023.

Public Consultation: 28th November 2025 - 4th January 2026
The proposals form part of an emerging allocation set out within the South Gloucestershire Local Plan.
The scheme will include the following:
- Circa 1,800 homes, including age-friendly accommodation, affordable housing and custom and self-build housing
- 100 extra-care apartments
- Local centre with mix of uses:
- Convenience store
- Community meeting space
- Gym
- Doctor's surgery
- Co-working office space
- Restaurant/Bar/Cafe
- Primary School and Nursery
- Sports Hub with new playing pitches and changing facilities
- Extensive new parks and green space
- Pedestrian/Cycle Bridge across the M4
- Allotments
A consultation website will go live from the 28th November 2025. This includes how previous feedback has further informed the masterplan, thoughts on character and design, as well as progress being made on the Green Infrastructure strategy.
