Bradley Stoke Community Festival 2016

The annual community festival takes place during June. The Bradley Stoke Community Festival 2016 will have something for everyone. It will promote local talents, clubs, bands and dance groups at the three main activity centres.

Friday 3rd June

The Picnic in the Park starts at 10.30 a.m. until 2.00 p.m. at the Jubilee Centre. Professor Panic presents his range of circus skills, juggling and entertainment in the Big Top, alongside local craft and community stalls and a bouncy castle. Refreshments will be served by the local WI during the morning with Face Painting also available.

Saturday 4th June (11:30 am - 6:00 pm)

The demonstration area in Jubilee Green features the King Ramps Half Pipe and displays will be given by the pro's throughout the Festival with a street art demo and "have a go" sessions. This year's main demonstration is dog agility displays by Canine Relate of South Glos. Music is provided by local bands; Telson, Elevation, Seduction, Limited Edition, Tundra and Skeeter alongside local dance groups including; Yasmins, Baby Ballet, Street Envy and the Chinese Dance Group along with other local clubs and associations. Fun rides for the children include trampolines, giant slides, football games, giant inflatables, a Helter Skelter and the Vertical Xtreme Climbing Wall alongside the local Scouts providing longbow archery and other activities. Sideshows, arts & crafts and community stalls will offer a wide range of local products and novelties. The Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club Tournament for Year 1 Boys and Girls, with 14 schools and 140 children taking part, starts at midday on the top field soccer pitches.

Sunday 5th June

A 10K multi terrain race organised by the Sole Sisters starts at 9.30 a.m. and finishes at the Jubilee Centre. 500+ Competitors are expected. At Baileys Court Activity Centre there will be a joint "Church in the Park" outdoor service from the Bradley Stoke Churches starting at 10.30 a.m. followed at 12.00 p.m. noon by 25th anniversary celebrations by the Bradley Stoke Cricket Club. Ex Glos and England cricketer, Jack Russell will be attending along with a display of his paintings and a cricket match featuring a celebrity XI v BSCC XI starting at 2.00 p.m. finishing with evening entertainment in the clubhouse. The BS Bowls club will provide roll up demonstrations throughout the afternoon. A Skate Board competition along with King Ramps will also be taking place at the New Bradley Stoke Skate Park wtth circus skills and other entertainments from 10.30 a.m. through to 4.00 p.m. and everyone is welcome to enter.
