Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of B4057 Beacon Lane which extends from its junction with B4057 Winterbourne Road to a point in line with Brookside Cottage, a distance of approximately 255 metres.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pre surface dressing patching works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 18 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration, between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
Alternative route: Beacon Lane (part unaffected), B4058, A4174, Stoke Gifford Bypass, Great Stoke Way and vice versa.
