IWD 2026: Film Evening

Another film night with two screenings celebrating women in sport is being hosted at the Brightwell Centre, BS32 9DB.
The evening includes a special showing of the independent short film Lia Ditton, 87 Days: Alone Rowing the Pacific, alongside a personal video from Lia herself, offering insight into her experience and behind-the-scenes details.
This will be followed by a screening of the 2002 film ‘Bend It Like Beckham’, a popular and inspiring story about a woman dreaming of a professional football career while balancing societal expectations.
