Hundreds turnout as Festival gets underway

BSTC - 12th June 2009

The Bradley Stoke Community Festival 2009 got underway today with several hundred people turning out for a coffee morning and pre-school picnic in the park at the Town’s Jubilee Centre.

Festival regulars Professor Panic, Mr Brown’s Pig and Steve the Bubbleman entertained the children and were joined by a real fire engine and crew.

A council spokesman said: “Its been a really good start, and the kids loved having their photos taken in the fire engine”.

Attention now turns to tomorrow’s packed line up of events which include Music and Dance on the Main Stage and the McDonalds football fun day featuring Sir Geoff Hurst (all at the Jubilee Centre). And with the weather set to remain dry it looks likely to be a tremendous day out.
