The Big Spring Clean 2012
BSTC - 30th April 2012
Starting Monday 16 April the BSTC Leisure Assistants yet again got in the spirit of the Big Spring Clean and we had a week long clear out and tidy up of our three Centres – Brook Way Activity Centre, Baileys Court Activity Centre and the Bradley Stoke Jubilee Centre, taking full advantage of the available skips.
It was hoped that some of our local community groups would be helping out or organising their own events during this week but unfortunately this do not work out – may be next year! But we did have the valuable and much appreciated help of the Community Pay Back Team who spent a sterling couple of days with shovels and litter pickers in hand. Many thanks to all concerned!

LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE in South Gloucestershire
"Volunteer groups and residents across South Gloucestershire were once again asked to spring into action to clean up their neighbourhood and open spaces, helping to transform South Gloucestershire as part of the national LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE campaign.
The South Gloucestershire BIG Spring Clean 2012 which runs from 1 March - 30 April is encouraging everyone to join in. Friends, families, neighbours, Parish Councils, community and voluntary groups, church groups, schools, students, youth clubs, scouts, cadets, brownies, guides, and businesses are all taking action against litter.
Free gloves, refuse sacks, litter pickers and hoops were on offer to groups who organise a community BIG Spring Clean event. South Glos Council also arranged to collect all the litter picked up as long as was bagged and picked up from locations agreed in advance. Skips were also available where needed"
