Local Cycling Walking Infrastructure Plan - Public Consultation
South Gloucestershire Council - 10th February 2020
Local people are being encouraged to give their views on new plans to substantially improve walking and cycling in the West of England.
The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) is running consultations on a regional Bus Strategy and a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) between 3 February and 15 March 2020.
The Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan outlines £400m of infrastructure projects that could dramatically improve cycling and walking across the region and help to make active travel the preferred choice for shorter trips. This Local Cycling and Walking infrastructure Plan is one of the first steps to WECA identifying and securing future funding to make these projects a reality, and support and comments on our proposed interventions is key to ensuring we can deliver the best possible schemes.
The West of England Combined Authority, together with Bristol City Council, Bath and North East Somerset Council, North Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council, is also simultaneously consulting on its Bus Strategy which outlines how the West of England authorities intend to double bus patronage by 2036. Both consultations can be accessed via travelwest.info/transportconsultations
Please can I ask for your assistance in spreading the consultation as far and as wide as possible. Feel free to promote on social media, get the word out to your contacts and please do get in contact if you have any upcoming events as we would be happy to talk about the Plan during the consultation period.
