The Three Brooks Nature Conservation Group was formed by local residents, with the aim of conserving and enhancing the Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve for the benefit of both residents and wildlife in Bradley Stoke. This friendly voluntary group meets on the first Saturday of every month to work on the reserve. If you would like to help to look after your local wild spaces, why not join us at one of the workdays below? All events are absolutely FREE.

If you are interested in joining us or would like to know more, then call Hannah on 0797 1426266 (evening), e-mail Emma at info@three-brooks.info or visit our website, www.three-brooks.info.

Workdays 2013

All workdays start at 10 am and finish at 4 pm, but you are welcome to leave earlier if needed. Wear old clothes, suitable weatherproof/warm outer layers and stout boots and bring a packed lunch. We provide all the equipment and training needed plus the essential tea, coffee and biscuits!

For all the workdays below, we will meet at 10am prompt at our tool store, which is behind the Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre, Fiddlers Wood Lane, Bradley Stoke, BS32 9BS. If you are coming by car, park in the leisure centre car park. Follow the road behind the centre (past the skate park) through the steel gates and our tool store is the green freight container on the right. Alternatively if you are arriving later you can meet us on site; contact us for directions.

SPECIAL NOTE: ASH DIEBACK DISEASE. Many people will be aware that our native ash trees are under threat from ash dieback disease caused by the fungus Chalara fraxinea. Once infected, over 90% of trees succumb to the disease. A few, however, show natural resistance. In accordance with guidelines from South Gloucestershire Council, we will not fell any ash trees until further notice – to ensure we don’t spread disease by moving cut wood around, and don’t destroy resistant trees.
